I’ve known Alanna for many years now so I was both honored and delighted to shoot some business headshots for her. Alanna is currently a junior at Bowling Green State University majoring in Broadcasting Journalism. Along with her studies, Alanna runs the Humans of Bowling Green Facebook page that features stories about different individuals on campus. Alanna also runs her own blog, which is both witty and intelligent and shares her views on many different topics. You should definitely check it out because it’s a great read. Along with being involved with many things on and off campus Alanna also had an internship with Channel 4 news in Buffalo over the summer. It was a wonderful experience for her and she learned a lot. So with all these grown up changes coming she knew she needed some professional headshots to use. I was happy to be the one to do that for her.
For Alanna’s session we went to two different locations Glen Park and Island Park in Williamsville. Both locations have been a favorite of mine lately so I suggested we go there. We ended up finishing our session with a few shots inside of Spot Coffee on Main Street in Williamsville. The day of the session was a rainy and dreary August day. At first I was worried we would have to reschedule, but thankfully luck was on our side and the rain held off just in time for her shoot and the sun even made a brief apperance. Sadly we had to improvise with some photo ideas due to the ground being extremely wet but we still made it work. Alanna is a natural in front of the camera so her session was a smooth one. We worked fast to avoid being rained out. Alanna is a beautiful dancer so I made sure to incorporate some dance shots into her session for some fun. We got so lucky with the weather holding out for us during the whole shoot. Right as we got to Spot Coffee to finish up the session the rain started again and was coming down hard.
Despite the rain I had so much fun working with Alanna. It was a fun experience to have her in front of my camera and all of her images came out beautiful. Alanna is such a bright, beautiful and funny girl and I’m so proud of her for the lovely woman she has grown up to be. I’m so proud of her and excited to see what big things she is going to do because she is definitely going places.
